Post-Doctoral Position

The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of California, Berkeley has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Scholar - Employee to develop a new research project entailing the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the production of biofuels. Experience in generating constructs, performing transformations and screening, characterizing transgenic strains using molecular biology and microbiology techniques required. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to write reports and provide analysis of the project. A doctoral degree in microbiology/biochemistry or yeast molecular genetics required. Starting salary commensurate with qualifications, in the range $34,752 - $39,636, plus benefits. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the past five years. Applications must be received by April 30, 2008.

This position is appointed on yearly basis, with the possibility of renewal depending on performance and the availability of funds. Applicants should submit a CV and a summary of research experience via one of the following methods:
