The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology enjoys modern offices and research laboratories in Koshland Hall.

The Department conducts research in the fields and greenhouses of the nearby Oxford tract.

Biological Imaging Facility

The Biological Imaging Facility in 381 Koshland Hall provides instructional and research support for modern biological light microscopy including laser scanning, confocal and deconvolution microscopy, computer image processing and analysis, FISH, and immunolocalization. Its web site offers links describing other microscopy facilities at UC Berkeley.

College of Natural Resources

The College also provides additional instructional and research facilities such as the Richard B. Gump South Pacific Research Station on the island of Moorea and its associated Moorea Digital Flora Project.

Electron Microscope Lab

The Electron Microscope Lab provides basic to advanced training in transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), from speciment preparation to darkroom techniques.

DNA Sequencing Facility

The DNA Sequencing Facility sequences DNA samples from individuals, businesses, government agencies and University of California affiliated laboratories, and also accepts genotyping projects.
